I had some time to work on my setup. Everything is pretty much done and ready to be sandblasted and coated.

So it turned out that I was getting a weird idle from the Maf being located to close to the turbo, similar to the perrin rotated problem. Anyways here is a video after the tune. Car made 340awhp and 330 awtq at 18.9 psi conservative tune.
I was figured I'd try to make a cold air intake to move the maf as far from the turbo as possible as this should be the root problem suggested by area1320 and ray from turbotectuning. So here are a couple pictures of the intake. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The tube coming off of the turbo is a 3.5" tube and then the fender tube is 3". The pieces were tig welded by me, I think it came out alright since I havent had much tig practice. Then I sandblasted the pieces and sprayed them with VHT Wrinkle Black. After I reinstalled this, it did indeed fix the idle. I am running lean right now because of the smaller maf housing and I am scheduled for a retune for the 19th and maybe I'll ask to make the tune somewhat more aggressive. I haven't had much time or money to work on my sound system but I figure Ill post my plans for the future on here.
![]() ![]() The sub is a RE Audio SE 10" 600w rms. I plan on powering it with a Hifonics amplifier not sure what size yet though. I do plan on wrapping the box with black carpet and securing it to my back seat. I'm still thinking about how/where to put the amp so it looks clean. I positioned the box like that because I wanted to be able to use the divider in the back to cover up the box when I am parked. Last edited by scootarida1; 02-22-2012 at 03:23 PM. |
