Pm Import Image Racing on nasioc and pick one up from him. Should be like $80 shipped or so with the install kit, which yes, you need.

I had to do some heavy modification to the plastic fuel pump housing with the walboro. If i had to do it again I would have went with the slightly more expensive DW65. I'm not sure though if there is a difference in the older Foz though that makes the walboro fit better. I just know in mine it took an extra 2 hours, a dremel, and a search for an o-ring in town.

Oh no,it should never take that long to drop in a fuel pump.

Maybe someone with an sg5 can chime in with prior experience.

I don't like surprises lol

If it was a simple drop in, probably would have taken 30-45 minutes. I actually had to use some intuitive thinking to get that thing to fit in a solid fashion.

Step 1:
Using the dremmel, when you look inside the plastic housing there were 5 fins running the length of where the pump sat. You have to grind them flat so the housing is perfectly round to get it to fit inside.

I double O-ringed the fuel output nozzle too cause on the stock pump the output nozzle was shorter. This one has a longer nozzle making the gap between the Oring and plastic housing pretty large. I went and found an oring that was as close to identical as possible and put two on the output nozzle to fill in the extra gap. Otherwise the fuel system will lose pressure and have to build up pressure and run more often to keep it up. Nate had that issue and had to redo his to get it to work. Then he went and bought a new housing and a DW65 to put back in it cause he was paranoid about it not working. I don't even think he made it around the block on the first attempt cause he lost fuel pressure.

When putting the housing back together, there are 4 little tabs that hold the two halves together. I had to grind out the inside of the U, effectively extending how far they go down because the fuel filter presses too hard against the bottom of the housing on the inside when you shove the 2 halves together. Carving out the little U shaped tabs to make them deeper helped keep it from fitting so tight.

Hopefully that's not your case, but if it is I hope I described it well enough to help you along and make it work right. If I hadn't asked nate about his I would have had to do it twice to get it to work as well.

The walboros are direct drops in for earlier foresters. We carry these @ the shop all the time, $75.

For the new forester guys, the DW65c is a direct drop in unit.

I should have asked about the price when I was there.

You guys ship by any chance? It's a long drive from Brooklyn.

Default bkbajan - my 04 XT

Started my car this morning in the 15 degree weather and after the car warmed up,I noticed smoke coming from under the hood. Drove around the corner to the gas station and parked under the hood and it smelled like coolant but I could not find any obvious leaks. Another thing to note is that my ac compressor would not kick on.

Any thoughts?
