Alki (Al-Ka-ee) Subaru
Name: Maximilian Age as of Today: 17 (Warning: This whole Journal May seem awkward or strange due to the large age gap I share with the majority of other members here) Update: Guess I'm not alone. The Forester Community is amazingly diverse. ![]() Subaru Forester Car Year: 2004 Car Model: XS Transmission: Automatic ~How did I get into Forester? On my 17th Birthday in April, my mother passed down her own car to me since she was planning on getting a new legacy. She herself was given this car for 40th Birthday. The car was a 2004 Subaru Forester XS. Due to the fact that she does not work, the Car really didn't get driven that much, so the Forester I received was pretty much brand new. When I got it in April of 2012, It only had 30,000 miles and had never been ticketed or had any accidents what so ever. ![]() ~How did I get into Moding It all started with the F-Badge. Originally the sole reason I became a member was to find out how I could mount a Forester F Badge to my car. I have a huge desire for mounting one of these onto my car because my Grandfather, who is one of the largest role models in my life, has one on his sup'ed up SF. Sadly I found out that with the stock 04 grill, the F Badge would not fit. This idea of mine kinda died down for a while, that Is until I got a job lifeguarding. One of the disadvantages of being a high school student, is that you get high school student job pay. I had already been working as a file clerk at Lowe Graham Jones in Downtown Seattle as a part time Job for 3 years. Luckily for me, the City of Seattle accepted me this summer as position of beach lifeguard. Working two jobs over the summer gave me the "fundage" to go a little above and beyond in my ideas for the car. I finally decided that If the stock grill couldn't handle the F Badge, then I would just go mesh. I was looking around for some mesh grills, but I didn't really see anything I liked. Thankfully, Chris (Sea_Scooby) agreed to make my grill for me. And thus I was bitten by the moding bug. Sure I had absolutely nothing added to the car at this time, but just the thought of this got me begging for more. I soon found my self wanting everything for my Forester. Sadly, High School Student Money wont buy everything, So I had to plan... ~So what do I tend to accomplish with my current budget? Well I had to plan how to spend my limited budget. At the moment, the way I drive the car as well as the experience and knowledge of cars I posses, I decided I really didn't need a turbo or any engine modifications till way later. The next thing I thought of was handling. Handling Is always important no matter how you drive your car, however, the Forester already has pretty good handling compared to other stock cars. I then started thinking about cosmetic modifications. I already had started with the grill and F-Badge, So why not complete it? My Plan is to change the Forester to look special and to my liking. Once I complete that I will move onto handling, and much later, I might upgrade to Turbo! My Project Name: Project Swagaru Here is how the car looks as of Today, all Stock: (Well I guess It has Yamaha rails instead of stock rails, but thats more of an accessory than a modification. Also I guess the spare tire is actually a full size tire for some reason in stead of the smaller spare tire. )![]() ![]()

Did my first Mod Today!
![]() Sure Hella Supertones are easy to install, but I decided I should start small and work my way up, although I did Challenge myself by doing the relay version of the Install. Im not going to go into detail about it since I just used tutorials from the Forums to figure it out. Instead heres Before, Compared, and After! ![]() ![]() ![]() I got these Horns, harness, and bracket from subimods. I actually didn't pay for these, I bought them for my neighbor for his Lotus Evora. Sadly his car got T-Boned and it doesn't run anymore ![]() The Bracket really was not meant for a Subaru Forester, so I had to mount it on a lower hole. The wiring harness was the same, and I had to extend it alot. The wiring looks pretty trashy right now, but I will fix it when the Super Tones I bought for myself come. That Right! Four horns, a wiring harness and a bracket for the Price of Two Horns!

I'm 16, so I'm in the same boat when it comes to budgeting mods. Nice start to your member journal!

Example of this: I have 2005 Sti Seats in my room. So sad But She should get her legacy soon, so she is becoming lenient. |
