We have a similar situation in the San Francisco CL and Seattle does as well. Once in a while, you'll see really crazy deals from Forester owners that just want to get rid of parts.

I noticed that in San Francisco, most are pre 2005 and there are hardly ever XTs, unless they are automatics. I looked for a while on CL in San Francisco to find a barely used XT in manual, but none surfaced. Guess that's a good sign about the car :)

Or that the majority of Forester owners in SF are just inclined to drive NA-AT in the city lol

It's tough to find an XT in SF, yet almost every Forester I see in the OC is an XT! Makes me feel slow... :(

Geographics as they are..............

It is rare....very rare to see a Forester of any kind here.

Since we bought ours last Sept I have seen a total of 3 others local.

I have seen only a few more Outbacks and not a single STI or WRX

Yeah, I see a ton of Foresters here in the Bay Area; both SF and SG body styles. But very few are XT's, even less are manual transmission. Good supply of shells for the future though if I should ever need one!

I think Portland has to be near the top. In the paper the other day, it stated that nearly 2% of all Subarus (which has a 0.7% market share in the U.S.) were sold in Portland Metro. Not Oregon... Portland Metro!:)

Wow, that Portland Statistic is EXACTLY what I estimated, when I was there last year on vacation. I was only in town 2 days.

Have you noticed that there are more Subaru's in the US?

Yup... they're everywhere around here. My surreal moment occurred two year ago driving to Mt. Hood to ski. In front of me, 5 various Subaru's including Outbacks/Foresters. I'm in my Forester and behind me was another Subaru. 7 Subarus in a line with no other vehicles in site... and it wasn't a group meet!:)
