Smile Newbie from OH, 07 FSXT 5MT

Just want to introduce my self.
Just bought Black 07 FSXT 5MT for my wife. Bought it from NC and just pick it up last weekend.

We have 93 Accord Wagon with 5MT and really love it for the economy and practicality. Plus the 5 speed still makes it fun to drive.

Was looking for a 2006 and up LGT but could not find one with manual transmission with decent price and low mileage. Most are 2005 and from my research have a lot of little annoying problems from first year of production.

So far I really like it. Its a real sleeper and got pretty decent mileage. I got 26 MPG coming back from NC to OH. I remind me a lot of my old 87 Toyota turbo 4X4 truck.

Congrats on your Fozzie! It will have much more 'character' than the Accord. You may have to borrow it from your wife and leave the Honda for her to drive!

Peace Brotha!

Thanks for the welcome.

I realize black color would require a lot more maintenance to look nice. I already start collecting all the waxes and tools. I need to clay it and remove some swirl mark.

Hello Augie and welcome along.

When sparkling the black looks superb, detail it properly; clay, paintwork cleanse and finish off with 2 or 3 coats of some good quality wax and it'll stay that way for much longer.

Finnish polishing and waxing it yesterday. It looks much better now. I use Mequiars clay and scratch X.

What do you guys do to protect the Headlight? I notice its plastic and not so clear anymore. Anybody use protective film on the front headlight? Is is wort to get it done?

Thanks,
Augie

I just addressed this problem the other weekend. I thought my headlights were fogging, so I took everything apart only to realize it was a strange mildue-like substance on the outside!!

I used a semi abrasive sponge, quick detailer, and a ton of elbow grease to get them clear again. I think there's a specific cleaner to do this, but I can't find the thread....I know it's around somewhere.....I'll post up if I find it.

I'd bet the protective film works great, but it's a pain in the a$$ to get on and like $60 bucks.

Drew

I might try to clean the headlight and find a protective film or cover for it latter.

I might mod it a little bit. Maybe FSTI strut and spring plus some dedicated summer wheel and tire. Others have to wait until the warranty expires.
