Welcome to subaruforester.org!
This “New Member Intro” forum is a place for newcomers to introduce themselves... Tell us about yourself, about your ride, post some pics, and help us get to know you.
If you have questions regarding your vehicle, or anything beyond your introduction, please don't post them here... Those types of posts belong in their respective forums.
Potential site-supporting vendors may use the "contact us" email link found in the navigation bar at the bottom of any forum page to request information regarding vendor status, or send an email directly to firstname.lastname@example.org
About our site, and how to make the most of your visit:
This is a thriving community of over 90,000+ Forester enthusiasts worldwide who are eager to share their knowledge with you, but keep in mind that there are already thousands of discussions in our archives. These can be readily searched using the internal search engine
located in the navigation bar at the top of this and every other page on the board (there is a Google search option also, which is useful for keywords with less than three characters). If you don't find the info you're looking for, start your own thread in the appropriate forum, and your fellow members will be there for you. Have a question or two on how to use the site and access its functionalities (e.g. how to attach pictures, post a poll, etc.)? Have a look at the FAQ section
under "Quick Links" on the nav bar. If you get advice here that solves (or doesn't solve) your problem, come back after it's all over and tell us! It can validate what was an uncertain suggestion and leave better info for future generations, and anyway it's just plain nice!
If you find yourself confused by geekery and “code talk” by other members, have a look at our reference for Frequently Used Acronyms and Technical Terms
Since we have members from all over the world, we encourage all newcomers to fill out their profile (location, car info) and/or use their signature to include any vital info on their car in order to make it easier for other members to offer relevant advice or answer questions. Both the user profile and signature can be accessed and edited under User CP
on the navigation bar. You will also find a host of other settings there that you can adjust to your liking, for example thread age cutoff (set to “Show all threads” to see all threads displayed at all times) and email notification preferences.
Be sure to check out the Regional Forums
and International Forums
for events, meets, and happenings in your area. Also visit our Supporting Vendors Forum
and Classifieds Section
for just about anything you could want or need for your Foz. Please note that you will need to be registered for at least 15 days to start your own threads in the classifieds section.
Here are links to two important threads here; they say a lot about how we all feel about this place. Please check them out before digging any deeper.
The ethic of our community
The official THANKS thread!
One last thing, please contribute what you can when you see another member in need of assistance, or simply extend a warm welcome to newcomers. Sometimes those of us who have been around for a while forget what it was like to be the "Newbie on the block".
Again, welcome to subaruforester.org and enjoy the site!
