Hey everyone, long time lurker here. Finally made an account. Currently driving a 2015 forester since last year and lovin' it. She's in the body shop right now, getting hail damage repaired. I miss her! Here's a picture of her former glory.
Don't have much in the way of accessories right now, but I have big dreams. The light bar is from Rally Innovations.
I'm new here as well(former toyota guy....but willing to learn) My favorite car was a 1st gen 4runner. simple and forthright about what it was and what it wasnt. I get the same initial feeling about my freshly purchased 2014 forester.Im encouraged.
after looking at my first post,i feel compelled to clarify...i dont crawl rocks, i dont bog muds, i just get from here to there regardless of mother natures tantrums. i have that feeling again !
Welcome to us both then :wink2: we also have a Tacoma and I've only had Toyotas before getting the Subie. It's a great car, and has gotten me through sand, rain, and snow with no issues at all.
Sucks about the hail damage, hopefully your insurance and body shop takes good care of it. My sister had something like $12K of hail damage done to her 6 month old Outback 3.6R
I've been really lucky so far (knock on wood) - one day it started hailing just as I was pulling into my garage. Been in Texas for 20 years and don't think I have ever seen the kind of repeated large hail storms we saw this spring...
I'm hoping they are taking good care of it. It's been in the body shop for close to 2 months now (meanwhile I'm stuck with a crappy Jeep compass). It had about $8k worth of damage. I'm just glad the sunroof did not break. We made some space for emergency parking in the garage now!
