Hi everyone my name is Sarah and my boyfriend and I recently purchased a 2010 Forester. Looking for ideas and answers for ways to make it better for offroad adventures. We are planning on moving to Oregon in the next year and we wanted a reliable fun adventure vehicle. Not sure what our first upgrade will be yet, Ideas?

Welcome from Pa. I guessyou will be asked how serious offroad you need to go. A steel skid-plate is one of the obvious first choices.

I grew up off exit 36. (eht)
Did the new vehicle come about as a result of flooding? Guessing you would be thinking of 4-wheeling it in the pine barrens and such, out near batsto? I agree with the skid plate, but would maybe recommend a second set of wheels and tires, lights, and a radio. Enjoy the foz! |

you picked a great car, I would say a good set of tires would be your first upgrade.

Nah the flooding didn't affect my area. It was time to get out of my jetta and into something that fit my lifestyle better. I am looking into the skid plate first, and definitely some all terrain tires.

Hey and welcome to the forum! Maybe we'll be neighbors soon here in PDX. There is a ton of great information on this forum and super friendly people. If you have off road questions I'm sure we can help! The first bit of advice is to get an aluminum skid plate not steel. Just my 2 cents.
