Can I ask what prompted the switch from Outback to Forrester? We are in the market. Thanks

Congrats on your 2014 Forester and welcome to the forum! Is that a new color for 2014?

Athiker, my 2011 Outback had a lot of "bugs" which I attributed to it being a lemon. When my dealer offered assistance to get me out of it I test drove the Forester and was amazed at how roomy and how quiet it was. It felt like it had the same power as my outback with all the same versatility. I imagine a redesign of the Outback will make it larger than the new Forester but the Forester allows you more options at a lower price point while giving you the same AWD along with the X Drive. Definitely drive both. Both cars accommodated two car seats with plenty of room for the front passengers.

Thanks, was curious b/c we drove both separated by a few weeks and were kind of shocked by how much better we liked driving the '14 Forester. Wondered if our impressions were common.

We have 3 kids but the last just left the car seat booster..oh happy days! This will be the 2nd car to the mandatory minivan for commuting and soccer games where usually one adult, 1 or 2 kids and the dog.
