Default STi IC and Rear Sway Bar Install

W00t! sleeperxt hooked me up once again. Thanks uber dude!

The patient on the slab.

For the 2004 XT you have to get the correct hose that fits the STi bypass valve (Hattip SuperRu) Part# 99071AC540 and a new gasket the fit the bpv.

The metal tube that this replaces is a pain to get off. The final bolt to unscrew is buried deep and is at a crazy angle. We finally ended up breaking it off with Ken's superhuman strength!

Installed

Puny stock sway bar, I couldn't believe how light and flexible it was.

STi mounting brackets.

Installed sway bar.

That's it for me.

Here is a shot of Ken's engine. Great custom XTi paint on a TurboXS IC, vf39, COBB heat shield, SPT tower bar, among other things!

THe ride home was really smooth and I really couldn't believe the difference the sway bar swap made. I've read people say it is one of the best early mods you can make that will really impact ride handling. They weren't kidding.

skotcharu / sleeperxt, looks great guys. I hope the install was easier this time around than it was with mine. I wish I could have made the visit this week, but me and the family are away at the Jersey shore while my Suby is home at the body shop getting fixed.

Why does the black metal piping in front of the TMIC look different than mine?

LOL! Very observant Andrew. We reused the forester pipe. It only took a minor modification of the mounting tabs and it fit like a glove:)

We have to setup a Fozzy photo shoot soon!

Is the picture of the swaybar with suspension at full drop or on the ground? It looks off the ground, but I can't tell. Just looking at the angle of the bar and endlinks.

Yes, the vehicle is in fact raised off of the ground. It was approximately four feet off the groun so we could comfortably work under it while seated on a little rolling mechanics stool. Therefore the swaybar is rolled forward and the endlinks are oriented this way.
