yeah, i remember that, i saw it in Sport Compact Car. i was looking at my center console and wondered about painting that, but mebbe i should start with something smaller...

i've used duplicolor on some Integra Type-R wheels before. they never lasted long. rustoleum, on the other hand, has lasted through the elements -- it seems it sort of bonds itself to the metal. it's great on rusted parts too.
I used Duplicolor graphite wheel paint on my 16" steelies 3 winters ago and they have help up perfect with over 15k miles of use. They have seen sand, snow, ice, road salt, lava rock and just about everything mother nature or the DOT can throw on the roads.
I plasti dipped the a pillars, glovebox, door sills, and gauge pod. The door sills didnt hold up very well but the a pillars and gauge pod were a perfect fit for the rest of the dash....
Only pic I have. Shall I plasti dip the airbags?

First I masked off the chromed areas/side markers, then I used a medium grit sanding sponge to rough up the surface a little bit (the sponge was great for the little rectangular holes). I blew the dust off with compressed air, and then applied my first coat (lightly). I gave that 10 minutes or so to dry, and then went on to the second (heavier), and so on... until it had a thick enough coating for my taste. Total it took about an hour and a half, plus another 30 minutes to let it dry some before I moved it back into the shop (just to be safe).
One tip: Do NOT let the Plasti-Dip dry completely before removing the masking, otherwise it will "stretch" the Plasti-Dip when you pull the tape away. That's no fun. :icon_redface:
I used plastidip on a carpc bezel for my wife's car. It looked nice but as soon as something nicks it, it peels off like dried elmer's glue. Also, area painted gets really dirty and you can't just dust it off with your hands. In my opinion, a really bad paint to paint anything on a car.
i also plasti dipped my steel wheels black.. did it right before a snow storm too and they are holding up pretty well, looks a hell of a lot better then when they were silver too
That's not bad at all. . Maybe we can meet up and take some pics of the foresters .. meet And greet. Lol
