Default New Seats & Badges

So I finally got a smokin' deal on some 07 TR Seats. I thought the retrofit was a PITA, but all is well now.
I also did a little different badging on the tailgate of the car. I wanted to both cover up the Forester alignment holes...and confuse people.

Like everything...except for the "Impreza" on the rear tailgate.

I like the STi badge but the Impreza would fully in my book count as being a ricer.lol

I don't necessarily love the Impreza badge, but hated the Forester badge. And I didn't want to leave the alignment holes exposed. The Impreza badge perfectly covers the holes, and is pretty small.

It would be sweet if they made a "Forester" badge just like that impreza badge...much easier to clean.

If it's just a sticker (no double sided foam tape), I'd use a hair dryer to soften up the adhesive & carefully peel it off. Once off, I'd use some lighter fuel (Ronsonol) to remove any adhesive that's left. If the sticker has been on a long time, you may have some paint fading to deal with. Lastly, Ronsonol is very mild, but it does remove wax, so you should rewax area to protect the paint (clearcoat).

If it's a sticker with double sided foam tape, use the same process as above but use dental floss or fishing line (slide under it) to cut it loose.

Bobby...

So how did you end up installing everything to not get an airbag light?

Do you notice the huge increase in thigh support? I think th pre-08 WRX seats are way more supportive than even the 08+ STi seats.

Glad I could help!

I hate the crap the dealers put on the vehicles. I figure if they want to advertise on my ride, they should pay me to lease the space!:)

On the suggestion of a coworker who is a VW nut, I used Goof Off to get rid of the adhesive left over from my dealer decal. It sounds just like the Ronsonol (sp?) suggested above and is easy to find in a hardware store.

I also recently used some of the automotive specific Bug and Sap Remover that i picked up at Advance Auto Parts to get rid of a wad of gum someone stuck right on my hood on a hot day. (It was the morning after i put on my new wheels... i think someone thought they were too flashy...) It's safe on wax and it worked well. I'm thinking it'd work great on the adhesive without stripping the wax. Anyone try this?

BTW, beautiful Forester, Marc. Annapolis Subaru FTW! Hopefully i'll run into you one of these days up at IAG.

Sadly, I also gotta echo that i'm not a huge fan of the Impreza logo, but i like its size and font it uses a lot.

I have that same stuff, in the yellow can by Turtle wax, right? I've been using it for years, it's great, it takes anything off and my paint looks great.
