The 4 tab bar is HOT! I like it for sure. Yeah, lilFOREST, when you get mine done up, I'll cruise down. I haven't made up my mind about lights, I'm not sure if I want the outer two lights to be smaller or not. Those 4 Hella lights above look pretty good too. Decisions, decisions.

I went with PIAA's cause I always see Hella's, so I wanted to be a little different. If I did it over again from the beginning, I would have gone with Hella's. They are probably half the weight, and a little less expensive.

I do like the idea of having small ones on the outside and larger ones on the inside.

If you want larger middle lights check out the Hella 700FF. They're slightly larger than the 500s and about the same price ($80 for the kit).

Hella 700FF

^^^^Highly recommended!!!!

I might be interested depending on a few things:

I am looking for a light setup for my drives up to Vermont in the middle of the night. On road stuff in the middle of nowhere - so it would be nice to have more light.

That said I would want something that was not terrible to remove because I would probably only run the lights in the winter.

Final price and construction quality would also make a difference.

Thoughts?

Also thank you for taking the time to make a nice part!

Jesse

PS you can tell lilFORESTer is cool becuase he rocks aviators and a knife.

The quality is great. The bar is very sturdy; I can rock the car back and forth with the bar. I can install/remove the bar in ~10 minutes...or 15 minutes if I have a beer in my hand.

dudes, thanks for the light tips. I like the size of the Hella 500's as the center lights, plus the b/w shields are tight. For the outer two, I'll go smaller than the 500's, but not sure which ones yet. If anyone knows of a good, small diameter light, I'm all ears.

I will try to go ahead and take some pictures of the bar that I am currently making for the SG5 before I Paint it, so that you can see the joints and what is really there... paint can hide a lot of crap work.

And like Ian said, it can be taken off in less that 10 minutes and the wires can then be tucked into the grill.

If you want anymore info or specific pics, let me know dude...

And as far as lights go for you, if you are traveling on a road in the middle of nowhere, I would go with some drving lights and then some fog lights (or a light with a wider pattern) that are pointed out towards the sides of the road so that you could see deer or anything else that could be any type of hazzard. The ATP's like in that pic are actually a really good light for that, but you can get the same effect for cheeper.

I might look into the lights that Pleiad7 has on her XT. She has done a bit of offroad driving so Im guessing she chose the lights cause they work, not just cause they look good. I believe she even posted some pics of hers on the top of the 4th page of this thread.

If money grew on trees this is what I'd get: https://www.bajadesigns.com/net/main...ategory=TRKBGY

I'd ask Silke about her FF1000s; I think she had a few complaints about the plastic mounts that come with the lights.

FWIW, the 700FFs are the Rallye 1000s replacements.

Now, I just need to wire up my lights!!!!!!! We should have a PNW aux light install day.
