Have you tested it on a dirt road? I've been interested in some form of additional lighting, but my primary use would be on dirt roads and the ones I've seen so far have been somewhat shaky on dirt roads.

i'm also wondering how shaky it is. I had two attached to the grill and it was way too shaky for me. This looks much stronger though.

What I really like is that it's made to handle a front plate. That is a big deal herre in MD

Brian, you might be interested in Primitive's/Paul Eklund's light bar for the 1st gen SG (same bar I have). I can tell you from experience that it is rock-solid on dirt, no vibration in the bar whatsoever. I would, however, recommend metal mounts for the lights you plan to mount. The supplied plastic mounts for my Hella FF1000's are the only "weak link" in my setup that keeps the lights frome being completely vibration-free. I might have to upgrade the mounts at some point. Paul ran both Alcan 5000 rallies with BIG LIGHTS on this bar, so you know the design is tried and tested...

It does pretty damn well offroad.

I added this tab to keep it from shaking too much. Keep in mind as well that this is one that I made for myself, so its not perfect by any means. Once I do get it all approved, I will post pics of the FINISHED designs that would then be for sale.

I appreciate everyone's interest thus far.

UPDATE

I have been given approval from the site owner to make a ONE run deal. I am Getting some SF measurements today and some SG5 next weekend hopefully.

I will be posting pics of finished bars within a week that way I could gauge the interest in them.

Are you making some to fit an 04 FXT? I'd be interested! Is there anyone with a roof mounted light bar? I want one of those for off road.

Yes he is! We are currently trying to setup a time so he can measure one of my 05 Foresters.

For a roof light bar, you can always go with the Baja lights. Since the Baja was discontinued I'm seeing stuff like that on clearance.

There you go... Chris answered before I could. (he spends waaaay to much time on the computer )

This is what my plans are...

2 and 4 Light pods for the SG9, SG5, and SF Foresters. I just got some measurements off of an SF and will be getting some off of Chris's SG5.

Ill be posting pics of some finished pieces around Sunday/Monday.

I AM going to try and get a minimum of 12 people, which I dont see being to hard.

As for price, once I get some good ones made, I'll do a time/materials run down to figure out a fair price. I would like to keep this under $90 shipped for the one pictured... maybe a bit more for the 4-light-bar, which I feel is fair.

Ill be making updates as production starts, and will then be taking info on Model and shipping locations.

Thanks for everyones compliments and interest.

Zack

I NEED TO FIND SOMEONE WITH A 06-08 SPORTS BUMPER TO TAKE SOME MEASURMENTS... EVEN IF I COULD GET SOMEONE TO TAKE A HEAD-ON SHOT OF THE GRILL AND FACIA AND THE SMALL OPENING AT THE BOTTOM WHERE THE BUMPER BLOCK CAN BE ACCESSED

i have a friend with an 08 Sports X. I'm sure he would be willing to let you measure his car.

Sweet, thats the only thing thats keeping me from starting this little endevor.

I'm finishing the first SG5 bar for Duc as I type this. I'll be making the SF bar this up and coming week so its getting close.

Thanks Chris, if you get ahold of him let me know. Even if i just get a couple of good pics, i can probably send those to Ian and he can use his CAD stuff to put it to scale for me.
