So is the car hitting target boost? Did you have to switch to the STI pill? Any adjustments on the waste gate acutator? I am asking because I just went through all of this!

Yeah, you can hear the air in the DP (I think that's what it was), but only at certain (higher) RPMs. I'm sure the stock DP had all sorts of sound deadening, heat shields, bends, or whatnot to mask some of the noise. The thing weighs a ton compared to the Cobb. It's fairly quiet. The STi axleback is still louder (if you can call it that).

Yes, it is hitting target boost. I think it's like 16.9 PSi or something like that. We didn't do anything else other than putting on the STi TMIC. I think you need to switch the pill for a turbo upgrade.

after i got my car protuned and the wastegate duty cycles were touched, the turbo got a lot quieter. im sure youre loving your new found power andy! i was getting bored w/ the OTS map and was very afraid of the OL/CL delay causing a horrible looking powerband. just look @ my dyno sheet. for preventitive measures look in2 a mail in tune like ken did, or go see dave@metric.
i have a hunch your hitting 17psi because of the sti tmic. because my car is protuned and doesnt even hit that much boost. make sure you have the new revision of the AP map on there, v102. it was made to prevent boost creep which i think your experiecing. 15psi is the boost target for stg2. |

per cobb's map notes on the stage II 93 octane map for 07-08 forester "boost target is ~16psi +- .8psi, so @16.8psi is perfectly acceptable in ideal conditions. i hit 17.1psi this am in 53 degree ambient temps at @500ft elevation. mine holds 16.8-16.9 without any problems. stage II, cobb dp, stock tmic......

i just searched cobb's site as well. guess i was mistaken, it is 16 psi. +/- .5psi. the map notes i was looking @ b4 said 15!? wth.
still seems a lil high. a protune is much more ideal IMHO. but enjoy the power in the meantime dont lemme get you too worried. all cobb does is turn the boost up and tweak a little fuel to richen it up. not very good tuning stratedgy im my eyes. |

I can't tell from the low res pictures but it looks like the waste gate actuator is tightened all the way down - this can cause the extra boost. I would keep an eye on the boost using the live data option of the AP or even use ECU explorer with the cobb cable. In the warm weather it is fine but I want to make sure you don't over boost in the cold weather.
