By off-road racing do you mean rally style or trail running?

Unless you have an XT you will probably not find or notice many speed upgrades for a NA Subaru. All the speed goodies make the most horsepower improvements on the XT's, but I'm sure there are plenty of NA owners that would disagree.

Since you come from the "land down under" you're already ahead of the game with so many Subies modified for off-roading. Besides the sought after King Springs and SubaExtreme skidplates (sump guards) you should be able to get a start here OFFROADSUBARUS.com with some ideas from the Members Journals. I think with a little effort there and some communication, you will find plenty of offerings in Australia.

For some rally inspired parts check out http://get-primitive.com/, Paul the owner has run a Forester in some rallies before. You might also find their pricing may make it worth while to import a few goodies.
Since the Subaru line up shares a lot of the same engine set-ups, I'd be looking at some go-fast goodies made for Impreza's

Hope this is at least a start for you.

A Forester is an Impreza under the skin.

You'll definitely need beefed-up suspension. Depends how much money you've got to throw at it! For example, I've had to go to custom reinforced struts with Koni inserts because I kept bending standard KYBs.

that dakar one has a NA flat six in it, but were looking at just an ej20t

its to be run in the production class so its cheaper but yeah im going to be looking for a lot of sponsors

They're called Team Alto... there's a post somewhere on NASIOC with the full spec of the previous H6 version of this car... essentially, it's STi gearbox and drivetrain, coil-over shocks, H6 engine (later car has 2.0 turbo IIRC), usual seam welding / strengthening, roll cage etc but a lot of the parts are just STI or Group N Impreza.

Was: 01 WRX > 02 WRX > 03 FXT > 02 WRX
Now: Boxster S, MCS, BMW X3
And: KTM 405 EXC, BMW F700GS

thoughts exactly gigsy

rules allow minuum modification, block must be the same, cams are free, gearbox must retain same casing, ratios must be from the manufacture (lookign into the eas for this) 50mm suspension lift, custom 50mm body lift, turbo pressure free, intercool must be the same.

but basically its going to be a wrx in a foz body, the plan is to ove to the next class which is open.
any engine, any body, any diff.
