yes in deed its a Toyota Land Cruiser FZJ80

In the begining i was lookin at Tacoma/4runner but for the cost to convert it to solid front axle, and other supporting mods was very $$$ I found this while i was lookin for a tacoma, and after lookin for a month i drove to test drive it and fell in love.

Suspension travel, hehe well its currently set up for mud, but im not into that, i rather crawl.

So it does have a solid front axle?

Beautiful! I'd love to have one of those to toy around in! That thing looks a lot like my Forester on roids.

Baller!

V8, auto trans, manual t-case? Did the old Land Cruisers have the 4-pots that seem to be standard on all Toyota trucks? Drums in the back?

Yours has no ABS?

What is the t-case like? True mechanical T-case, or is it a VC like a Subaru?

Were the early cars available with a V8? Does the LC share a shortblock/head with any other toyota?

Hmm, I'd think a 2JZ-GTE with stock turbos, a built auto, a high-stall converter, and beefy axles would make pretty formidable off-roader. Probably wouldn't be TOO hard to stuff into the engine bay of a truck like that. If the bellhousing from the FJ80 is similar to the Supra it would be even easier.

......so, when are we goin' wheelin'???

What sort of mods have been done to it??? Looks lifted, the ARB bumper is pretty obvious, has the gearing been changed for those big 'ol tires??? Diff locks and/or breathers??? Do you have plans yet for making it more of a crawler???

Tellico awaits!!!

That's what the brake pedal and high stall is for. Hold the brake, hit the gas, build boost, slip the brakes. Get a BIG trans cooler too.

Those guys don't seem to be going about this the best way possible, though. Using a modified MAF and nothing more to control fuel and timing? Yikes! There is a lot left on the table.

I'd use a UTEC Delta. It can be configured to control most any motor with the correct harness and the correct information about the motor. At least then you'd be able to fix timing AND fuel.

How much can the stock 4.5L handle?
