This is a good indicator of cost of ownership. To me, it makes a lot of sense to go diesel.

Another thing to consider is that, because diesel engines are built stronger, they usually last longer than gasoline engines. If the rest of the vehicle is built as
strong as the engine, the diesel models should retain a better resale value for longer as well.
