The one guy on the Mazdaspeed Miata board I am on went from his stock 17s to lighter 17s and lighter tires, and gained 7whp. This is 7whp on a car that was making @170whp before that.
I also know a guy on Nasioc with a bugeye WRX (well, had a bugeye at the time) that went from his stock 16s to a set of 22lb 18s (you would be suprised, 22lbs isnt that heavy for an 18" wheel unless you spend 3k on them. Heck man a lot of 17s are 21lbs) and ran 2 tenths slower in the 1/4.
I know my 18s are going to hurt me. But I will have enough motor to deal with it and still be fast :) Not that I couldnt be faster. But looks are also a concern, and these 18s are SOOOO hot.
