My Forester is new to me. I bought it about 10 days ago. While I was driving off the Carmax lot, my son (10) asked me, "why doesn't the clock work?" So, I went to Googlin' and came up with this site on Thursday. On Saturday, I bought my soldering iron. It took less than 10 minutes start to finish. Never held a soldering iron in my life until then. Put the clock back in and "Have Mercy!" it worked. My son has been out of town, but when he gets in the car today, I can't wait to tell him that his momma is handy!

Thanks so much for this information and for this forum. I previously owned a Legacy Outback (her name was LouAnn) that died after 12 years and nearly 300,000 miles. Needless to say, I'm sold on Subies. Thanks again.
