Just hit 1,000 km with our new 09 Forester and we're averaging about 6.8 L/100 km which I find amazing!! It's a mix between city driving during the week and then highway driving on the weekends. I try and do my best at "hypermiling", trying to keep it around 1500 rpm, never excellerating too quickly or slamming on the breaks.. My boyfriend and I have a competition going to see who can get the best mpg for the longest, so far, i'm winning!! But I also drive it more than him. I am very impressed with the gas mileage over all and was a little worried when we first bought it but the hypermiling has been doing wonders!
